M. Paignant was a French sculptor/designer who worked closely with the famous Maison Colin foundry during the Art Deco period. This foundry was taken over by Louis Paignant in 1923 and during that period often signed objects with the stamp "Ane. Mon. Colin" (Ancienne Maison Colin).
